Servant Opportunities

There are a wide variety of opportunities to serve the church, community, and even the world here at Pinson Memoiral. We hope that you find a place that you can connect.

  • Food Pantry

The food pantry is only one way that we serve the community in which Pinson Memorial sets. It is open every Monday and Wednesday from 2-4pm. We would love to have you volunteer. For more information call the office at 776-3358

  • Hungry at Home

The Hungry at Home ministry serves children in the Worth County area that are chronically hungry over the weekend. We pack enough food for 6 meals and deliver them to the school on Friday so the children have something to eat over the weekend. We currently serve all four public schools. For more information to serve call the Office at 776-3358.

  • Clothes closet

The Pinson Clothes Closet was started by our Youth Group as a way that they can service the community. It has now been adopted by our United Methodist Women and is open in conjunction with our Food Pantry every Monday and Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm. It is open to anyone in the community with a need. For more information contact our church office at 776-3358.

  • Children's ministry

Pam Peacock is leading the way in our Children's Ministry each Monday and Wednesday as we reach out to the community with our PMKs (Pinson Methodist Kids!). We also have a program on Wednesday evening following our Family Night Suppers. We also have a Sunday School class each Sunday morning under the leadership of Amy Chafin and Kelly Singletary. We also have other activities and programs throughout the year. If you would like to help out, please contact the office at 776-3358.

  • Youth Ministry

Heather and Ralph Powell are leading our newly revised Youth program. We are excited about the many ways our youth are learning and growing each week. If you would like to help out, we need individuals to help in Sunday School, MYF, and Wednesday night service night. We also need individuals to volunteer for Sunday night snack supper and to serve as chaperones for trips, retreats, and meetings. If you would like to help, please call the office at 776-3358.

  • Worship Ministry

Worship binds us together as one voice and helps sustain us through the week. We could use servants in all areas of worship that include: greeters, ushers, acolytes (they light the candles in the sanctuary), Scripture readers, choir members, band members, refreshment servants, communion servants, media and sound assistants, and help with community joint ecumenical services. Call the church office if you would like to serve in this area. 776-3358.

  • Family Night Ministries

Family night consists of a meal and a small devotion for both children and adults. We would love to have you join us. You are also welcome to serve in various ways on Wednesday nights. You may: help plan meals for one month, clean up, or do a devotion. Contact the church office at 776-3358 or fill out the form below.

  • Mission Trips

We participate with other Methodist churches across our district and conference in helping to sponsor and participate in Mission trips and work in our Southwest District and beyond. When new opportunities arise, we will get the word out so that all may participate. If you are interested in future mission opportunities, please contact the church office at 776-3358.

  • Homebound Friends

Often people are forgotten about as they cannot egage in community activities because of health. Here at Pinson, we like to make sure everyone knows they are loved. If you would like to be a visiting servant contact the office @ 776-3358 to be added to the list.

  • TLC Groups

This team provides meals for families when loved ones pass away or when people are sick, checks up on those who have not been feeling well, and provides nurture for people recovering from major surgery or illness. For more information contact Gerry Sutton.

  • Guest team

This team of servants lets guest know that we are glad that they came to Pinson for any of our services or programs. This is done in a number of ways such as: emails, letters, phone calls, or door visits.

  • Mission Projects

We do many local outreach service projects through out the year. Just a couple are Pinson Boxes of Love (Thanksgiving dinner boxes) and our Angel Tree (paper ornaments with children's Christmas gifts listed). Our Angel Tree provides people who attend Pinson to help a less fortunate child have a great Christmas. Other projects take place as there is a need in the community.
